Natural substrate for a biological active pond base.
The biological balance in a pond is a precondition for good water quality. The best and easiest way to ensure this is to cover the pond bed with Colombo Natura Substrate which functions as one large biological filter. The large, porous grain with an open structure creates a large surface where billions of bacteria can grow. These bacteria will purify the water and keep it healthy. Due to the open and porous character of Colombo Natura Substrate, it is also very suitable as a biological filter material.
Instructions:
- Cover the pond base evenly with a layer of substrate.
- You can cover 5 m2 of pond base with one bag of Colombo Natura Substrate 25 liter.
TIP: Add Colombo Bactuur Bio Start for a quick start-up of the bacteria in your pond.
! The very open and porous character of the substrate can cause some particles to float. Some will absorb enough water over time and will sink, others will keep floating and need to be removed. This is normal.
