Function
The Titanium Heater is a digital aquarium heater featuring a self-regulating thermostat (20-35°C) and a built-in water circulation pump. Tropical fish thrive in warm water, and this gradual adaptive underwater heater keeps the aquarium water at a stable temperature set by the user.
Protection features
Overheating protection; the heater switches off automatically if the actual water temperature is 1°C above the set water temperature.
Dry-run protection; The heater switches off automatically if it is not completely submerged.
Installation
Install the heater fully submerged in the aquarium (preferably at least 10 cm below the water surface) using the height-adjustable suction cups.
The heater can be installed either horizontally or vertically.
The maximum operating depth is 1.2 metre.
Allow the thermostat of the heater to acclimate for about 5 minutes with the water temperature.
The controller is not waterproof and must not be submerged or get wet.

Operation
Turn on the heater by plugging it into the socket. Ensure that no water can get close to the socket.
The controller allows you to set the desired temperature and, if necessary, switch off the circulation pump (only if there is sufficient water flow).
Press the button on the controller and the preset temperature will appear on the heater’s display. After 1 second, it will start to flash and you can set the desired temperature.
Press the button to set the desired temperature (20-35 °C) in 0.5 °C increments.
The setting mode exits when the display stops blinking.
The heater will now heat the water until the set temperature is reached (the red LED on the heater is on). The display shows the power consumption (wattage). The power consumption will gradually decrease as the set water temperature is reached.
Press and hold the button on the controller for 3 seconds to switch the circulation pump on (the blue LED lights up) or off. We recommend keeping the circulation pump switched on.
Maintenance
Clean the heating element regularly to prevent severe limescale build-up on the titanium heating element. Severe limescale build-up reduces performance and can cause irreparable damage to the device.
Always switch off all devices before maintenance. Disconnect the plug(s) from the socket.
Allow the heater to cool down for 15 minutes before removing it from the water.
Clean the heater using a sponge and a de-scaling agent. After cleaning, rinse the heater thoroughly with clean tap water.
Remove the cover of the water circulation pump (9).
Now you can pull the rotor out of the pump.
Clean the rotor, rinse it with clean tap water and reassemble the rotor and the cover.
Depending on usage the rotor can get worn out and damaged, this is normal. A new rotor is available from your dealer (SF TITANIUM HEATER SERVICE KIT Art. A4030280).
Trouble shooting
| Error codes / Problem | Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| E1: Overheating protection | 1. The temperature probe sensor detects that the actual water temperature is higher than the set temperature. | 1. Lower the water temperature and/or ensure better water circulation. |
| 2. Presense of other heaters in the aquarium. | 2. Remove the other heaters. | |
| 3. Temperature probe sensor short circuit. | 3. Return to your SuperFish dealer for repair. | |
| E2: Temperature probe error | Temperature probe open circuit. | Return to your SuperFish dealer for repair. |
| E4: Dry-run protection | The sensor detects that the heater is (partially) out of the water. | Fully immerse the heater in the water. |
